Barney: The Land of Make Believe

Barney's New Quest May Be the Best
This may very well be the best Barney movie ever!

As a granddad, I've seen quite a lot of the big purple dinosaur's videos, although I've never really considered myself an avid fan. However, if "The Land of Make Believe" is a sign of things to come, I'll look forward to more. My grandchildren love this video!

In "Land of Make Believe" Barney and his cohorts are on a quest that is fast moving and very colorful, with a delightfully engaging set of "Make Believe" characters (a giant, mermaid, magician, etc.) and some nifty special effects. The kids accompanying Barney and his crew are cute without being saccharine and there is an assortment of catchy songs and dances performed by all the characters. A few of the tunes are Barney classics, but others are new and very clever. Don't be surprised if you hear your little one suddenly start singing a song or two from this video (not surprisingly, I just noticed that Amazon also has the soundtrack CD available)...

Dasheikz 2 Centz: This iz da BOMB!
This is by far the best Barney movie ever. My daughter is 17 months old and loves Barney. To her he is the greatest ever. I used to hate Barney before I had her. Now I love Barney because every time he sings the "I Love You" song I always get a free hug and kiss from my little mumu. We watch this every day and she never gets tired of it. Neither do I. There is actually humor that adults can also appreciate. The kids aren't annoying either. And the extra features are the best bonuses any DVD has ever given. I hope Barney goes on more adventures like this because it is really fun. I'd buy all of them. Well have to go. Time to watch Land of Make Believe again.

We really liked it!
I haven't seen my 3 1/2 year old daughter so enthused about a movie! She is very sensitive to suspense and gets scared easily, so there's not a lot of movies for little ones since most have quite a lot of suspense and quite scary characters. She started watching Barney maybe 6 months ago and loves him (my 1 1/2 year old son does too!!). This movie was thrilling to her. And she could follow it well, and she talked on and on about the plot when it was over. It was also a very nice viewing time for a movie for such little ones-- the running time of 120 minutes includes bonus features which we didn't do. The movie was probably a little over an hour. There were plenty of songs, which she loves, as on the show, but it was filmed all over, not in the studio the show mainly stays in. I like Barney for the upbeat and friendly attitude. I am so glad I bought this little flim for her!
