El Moro de Cumpas



Very Funny movie. Beautiful Horses. Lot's of Corridos.
It's one of Antonio Aguilar's best movies. Even the author of the famous "corrido" makes a couple of short appearances. The story takes place in the small Mexican town known as Agua Prieta, home of "El Zaino" who is a regional race horse champion, and in Cumpas, home of the other regional champ known as "El Moro". Both horses start gaining fame as they go through a winning streak that lasts for several months. Several attempts are made to organize a race between the two champions. Negotiations always break off in satirical violence in which people fight with their chickens, sombreros, and mariachi instruments. When the race finally takes place, Agua Prieta is filled with visitors from all over the region, including several towns of the USA. Everybody wants to bet their life savings, their horses, their cows, their houses, and even their sombreros. Even though "El Zaino" or "El Relampago" is a fine thoroughbred horse, some...
